Thought of the Day:

"Never forget these two fundamental truths: 1) To those that would challenge that "The Founding Fathers" didn't envision assault rifles being taken into schools, the Founding Fathers did fully envision times in which our liberties would be challenged and enshrined RIGHTS in the Constitution and not contexts. And 2) There is only one amendment protecting all others, and that is the 2nd Amendment. We will live as patriots, or die as slaves. The choice is ours."

Newspaper calls for assassinations and mass murder

Unfortunately, you read that title correctly. In an op-ed at the Des Moines Register, retired columnist Donald Kaul called for the execution of Americans (without arrest, trial, or due process) and the assassination of all GOP members of Congress. This being the "natural" response to the tragedy at Sandy Hook.

In his own holier-than-thou words, Kaul (a retired journalist) writes, that we need to "Repeal the Second Amendment... It’s badly written, confusing and more trouble than it’s worth. It offers an absolute right to gun ownership... Owning a gun should be a privilege, not a right."

He also likens the NRA to Al Qaeda, arguing that the NRA should be declared "a terrorist organization and make membership illegal. Hey! We did it to the Communist Party, and the NRA has led to the deaths of more of us than American Commies ever did."

He goes on to suggest that ownership of unlicensed assault rifles should be a felony, punishable by the death penalty, and that "If some people refused to give up their guns, that 'prying the guns from their cold, dead hands' thing works for me." He doesn't stop there in advancing the agenda of death to those whom he opposes! He then states that, "I would tie Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, our esteemed Republican leaders, to the back of a Chevy pickup truck and drag them around a parking lot until they saw the light on gun control."

And if killing gun owners, abolishing the 2nd Amendment, torturing and killing GOP Congressmen doesn't work, then the nation should "adopt radical measures."

Hmmm. Now I could make an argument that the same people who are against guns, the NRA, and the GOP are likely the same people who protested President Bush and his "enhanced interrogation techniques." They are likely the same people who considered Bush's actions in Afghanistan and Iraq as traitorous, damning, "radical measures" and responded by voting in a new president who campaigned on stopping such "radical measures" (but who actually continued and expanded such measures via the NDAA, drone strikes, and secret kill lists). I could make this argument... but that would be petty.

I am far more concerned about the wonton advancement of a violent agenda on the part of liberals and the MSM, with absolutely no MSM journalist addressing this concerning trend. Remember those isolated and handful of racial slurs made at Tea Party rallies, which the MSM used to paint the entire movement as racist? Let us fast forward now to today, where we see the criminal actions of the Occupy movement being glossed over... the hate mongering of Obama being promoted as valid truth... Union thugs attacking a conservative journalist and destroying one small businessman's hot dog cart... and countless examples of liberals on Facebook, Twitter, and now a newspaper advocating for violence against Republicans and law-abiding Americans for doing nothing other than supporting a right enshrined in the Constitution.

It used to be that if anyone on the right suggested that a "war was coming" or that the government would have to come take their weapons, they were considered fringe or extremists. Timothy McVeighs in the making. But when you hear people like Kaul and his agenda being promoted by the very act of publishing it by a MSM newspaper, you have to wonder... Who is the extremist now?
