What is The Franklin Buzz?

I'm tired.

I'm tired of choosing the lesser of evils each election. I'm tired of compromising on values. I'm tired of watching the nation I love inch by inch abandoning what made it so great that it would be a beacon to the world. I'm tired of progressives eroding our rights that were not granted to us by the government, but were endowed in us by our creator. I'm tired of the war on the Judeo-Christian God. I'm tired of the mainstream media (MSM) being in lock step with the Obama Administration. And quite honestly, I'm more than tired of being repeatedly lied to by our government.

Who am I? I'm a former Marine (Semper Fi!), a husband, father, and NRA member. Each day when my family watches the news, we watch with increasing despair that the America I fought for while in the Marines is no longer the America that we are leaving to our daughter and son.

I owe my children an apology. I am sorry for my complacency. You see, I am an informed voter, and while I don't always vote straight party line (in fact, I rarely ever do!) I do always vote. I vote my conscience, which means that from time to time, I've voted for the person who I knew would lose... but who I believed was the best candidate to represent me and my values. I thought that was enough.

I was wrong. What I have learned over the past decade or so is that our government-- in fact, our very way of life-- is being threatened by an insurgency unlike anything we've seen before. These enemies are not using guns, bombs, or the threat of such weapons. No, they are far more insidious... for they are our neighbors, our reporters, our elected officials. They are masters of what I would have called PSYOPS in the military: these progressives run the media, spew their misinformation on the airways as news, and those that question the "facts" are considered fringe elements, traitors, racists, misogynists, or ignorant.

I am deeply troubled that our media walks in lock step with the Obama Administration, failing to question, failing to investigate, and failing to do their job. I understand they are liberals and support their leader. But weren't they at one time reporters? What happened to journalistic integrity? It is gone now, and I am reminded too clearly of what has happened in the past when the government has controlled the media and stripped their citizens of any means of informed dissent.

We are repeating history, my Dear Reader. We do not have independent news any more. Progressives foster dependency, promote hate and greed, and seek to undermine family values. They have eliminated God, morality, and character from schools, and wonder why guns and bullying have moved in. They seek complete societal dependency on the government, from cradle to grave as President Obama once championed. And some of their members have quite boldly declared they will do anything, say anything, to accomplish their agenda of creating a socialist nation. Of course to do so, they acknowledge, they must first remove all guns from Americans so there can be no resistance.

Well, I am resisting by ending my complacency. I am offering this blog as a way of countering their lies, misinformation, and agenda. I hope through these posts, we can learn from each other and motivate each other to take steps to fix what is so wrong in our nation. America needs us, Dear Reader.
